IN 2015, Kendall Jenner starred in her very first campaign for Calvin Klein. Now, eight years on, looking back at those images you can’t help but wonder if the then-21-year-old had a sense of the magnitude of the career ahead of her.

Today, Jenner is one of the highest-paid models in the world. She has graced the runways for myriad luxury houses, starred in countless campaigns, achieved street-style-icon status and is a feature on red carpets and at awards shows (most recently, she attended the Oscars after-party in vintage Jean Paul Gaultier). In essence, the last eight years have been something of a whirlwind.

But amongst the chaos, one thing has remained constant: Her ongoing partnership with Calvin Klein.

The brand’s latest campaign, dubbed Calvins or Nothing, sees Jenner at her most confident — her Sєxiest — in a series of pared-back images that recall the sensual edge of ’90s style. It’s something of a full-circle moment, given Jenner’s first-ever shoot for the brand was 2015’s ’90s-inspired Calvin Klein Jeans spring capsule. Ahead, the model chats with BAZAAR Australia about how her perspective has changed since that first campaign, what makes her feel Sєxy and how she’s “more in tune” with her senses than ever.

Q&A with Kendall Jenner

This Calvins or Nothing campaign is a celebration of confidence and sensuality. What makes you feel confident?

I love that the new Calvin Klein campaign is all about confidence and sensuality and I feel that the images reflect exactly that. For me, confidence is all about feeling good and believing in yourself.

And what does sensuality mean to you?

Sensuality is all about being in tune with your senses and creating art and images that are pleasing to the eye.

You’ve been working with Calvin Klein for coming up to eight years now. How has your perspective on sensuality shifted in that time?

I was much younger when we started working together and as I have grown my perspective on sensuality has grown. I am more in tune with my senses now.

What makes you feel Sєxy?

A great pair of CK undies make me feel Sєxy.

The new Calvin Klein collection features some stunning ‘90s-inspired silhouettes. What is your favourite thing about ‘90s style?

My favourite part of the ’90s style is the relaxed vibe. I love a great pair of jeans paired with a nice tee and loafers. I like to wear ’90s-inspired looks but with today’s twist.

Speaking of the ‘90s, these sH๏τs recall the iconic Calvin Klein campaigns with Kate Moss. Were those images a reference for this shoot, or did the similarities just come about naturally?

I always love to shoot with Mert & Marcus as they always create incredible images that convey so much emotion and I feel like that is what we accomplished with this campaign. I feel in that sense it does resemble Kate Moss’s campaign. We just tried to create images that are minimalist but have a strong point of view.

And finally, what’s your favourite piece from this collection?

I love the ultra-high cropped wide-leg jeans that I sH๏τ in for the campaign.
